CharaTalk Content Policy

The public long form of the policy shown inside the app's consent gate.

CharaTalk creates AI-generated talking-avatar videos, entirely on your device. Animating a real person's face is powerful, and using CharaTalk means agreeing to use that power honestly.

You agree to:

  1. Only animate portraits and voices you have the rights to use. That means your own image and voice, or content whose subject has given you permission — a photo you found is not a photo you may animate.
  2. Never create misleading, deceptive, or harmful impersonations. No fabricated statements presented as real, no defamation, no harassment, no fraud, no non-consensual or sexual depictions of real people, and no deception about a video being AI-generated where it could mislead.
  3. Keep the "AI-generated" watermark on shared videos. CharaTalk applies it by default. You can disable it for private or clearly-fictional work, but anything a viewer could mistake for a real recording should carry it.

Our part

CharaTalk is built to make responsible use the default: an explicit rights-and-consent confirmation before generating, a visible watermark on by default, and a fully on-device design — your content is never uploaded, and there is no cloud service to abuse at scale.

Everything runs locally with no account, so enforcement of this policy is a matter of your agreement rather than our surveillance. You are responsible for the videos you create and share, and for complying with the laws that apply to you — including those on likeness rights and synthetic-media disclosure.
